Hello my name is Scott and I am very interested in starting my carear as an electrician. I don’t have any experience in this field, but I would love to have a carear in this field. I have a few questions about the apprenticship and i work full time as a floor guy at a automotive shop, so I can’t go to the IBEW office due to the times it is open. My first question is, can i sign up at any time? I mean are the classes available at any time? And also I was wondering how long it takes after starting the program to start making money as an apprentice. I would love to hear from you soon so I can get out of this job and move to start my carear. Thanks for your time.
Scott,
Thanks for your interest in becoming an apprentice with the WCJATC. We are currently accepting application and always looking for qualified applicants. We start classes every Fall but can get possibly you to work before next fall as the job calls come in from our Contractors. The great thing about our program is that it is an Earn While Your Learn program, with you getting a paycheck from day one. Starting wages are $14.40 plus Full Family Health Care and retirements.
We would be happy to have you come down to our Program Orientation, held here every Wednesday at 4 pm. We ask that all applicants come with a copy of their Driver’s License, Social Security Card, and Birth Certificate. If that time does not work for you please give us a call and we can set up an appointment. Thanks again for your interest and we hope to hear from you soon.
When exactly do the classes start? Is it to late to start now?
Hello, I was wondering if you guys are having another orientation tonight at 4pm becuase i want to come check it out like i was recently told i could.
Hi , how much is the training for a beginning electrician? If I am paying out of pocket ? Are there payment programs?
Tim,
Most of our students are part of our 5 year Indentured Program, paying nothing for their classroom training, just for books. We do offer the first two years of our curriculum as part of a 2 year Tuition program. The cost is $2000 per year plus Union dues, $40 a month. We break up the tuition into 4 payments. Thanks for your interest. To make application we have everyone come down any Wednesday at 4pm to pick up an application and learn more about the program. Give a call if you have more questions.
Do you have to be a colorado resident? Im thinking about moving to colorado and am interested in this school
Sean,
Thanks for your interest in becoming an Electrical Apprentice. Colorado Residency is one of our requirements of the program. To learn more about the other Qualifications of Apprenticeship I would recommend to attend our Orientation Class, held every Wednesday at 4pm. We will take about 30 minutes of your time and you get a chance to learn about the Program, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly. We require that you show up on time and with copies of the following documents; Drivers License, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate or Passport. Thanks for your interest and we will hopefully see you soon.
